About us
Started in 2012, the Zak World of Façades conference series has grown to become a globally renowned event promoting new concepts, best practices and current trends in the building envelope segment. It has completed 75 editions in 25 countries and is present in Australia since the last 3 years. However given the current global situation, with social distancing in place and large congregations banned, the physical event is suspended until things resume normalcy.
Hence to keep the Australian architectural community connected digitally with the latest trends in façade design and engineering, Zak World of Façades is pleased to announce the digital editon of our Australia series, where we will be running keynote presentations, technical presentations, panel discussions and workshops in this 3 day affair.
We are also making available opportunities for sponsorship to exclusive organisations interested in being a part of this digital edition. Until we meet again in person, our commitment is to deliver these using the most innovative digital tools in the most innovative way. This is for all of us not only to survive, but thrive and grow together as we move into a different future at the same time which we had never ever imagined.
More info about Zak World of Façades can be found on www.zakwof.com

Charles graduated from Surrey University, UK with a Master of Science (Distinction) in Structural Engineering in 1975, having completed a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering the previous year. He undertook his initial 3 years of engineering training with Taylor Woodrow, the international engineering group. By 1982, after an 18 month stay with Alan Baxter and Associates, he had progressed to the position of London Associate with White Young Consulting Group [now called White Young Green]. His major responsibility with that company was the engineering design and management of construction for the $100 million (1980 prices) town centre development in Basildon, UK as well as a 3 month stint in Qatar designing a new palace for the Emir. In 1984, he moved to Australia to set up Rickard and Partners Pty Ltd, subsequently known as Bonacci Rickard and then Rickard Hails Moretti Pty Ltd. Over a period of 22 years, the company offered civil, structural, façade and building diagnostic consultancy services in two different divisions with an annual turnover in excess of $3.0 million. The team utilised the very latest in design and drafting computer technology. Their clients covered the public and private sector, project values ranging up to $200 million in value. In June 2004, Rickard Hails Moretti Pty Ltd split Engineering and Diagnostics work in to two separate businesses. Charles progressively reduced his involvement in both to occasional consultancy and reference up to December 2006. After 8 years as a sole practitioner, Rickard Engineering opened a new office in Sydney, Australia with a small but highly experienced and capable team providing service both domestically and internationally.
