Kieran is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in structural and façade engineering design consultancies in Europe, Asia and Australia. Kieran is interested in exploring new pathways to delivering innovative design through breaking down the boundaries between engineering disciplines. From his background in light-weight structures and free-form geometries, he has recently undertaken research studies investigating the links between Facades/HVAC/ESD and Cost as well as developing workflows to optimize embodied CO2e in structures and facades.

Kieran is currently working on several major projects , including the new LA Clippers NBA arena in Los Angeles, the design of three stations for the City Rail Link in Auckland, NZ and the 430m high mixed-use Camelia Tower in Kunming, China for Greenland Properties.

Kamil is a Senior Associate at BG&E Façade Consultant with extensive experience in the Facades Industry and has provided ongoing expertise to a broad range of clients and stakeholders.

With his Architectural background, Kamil has been entrusted to work with dynamic and complex projects throughout the full project life cycle, from schematic design to completion Stage. These experiences have led him to significant involvement in delivering the largest development in Melbourne CBD, the West Side Place.

Kamil has in depth interest and passion in the subject matter related to Responsive Building Envelope. This has been the catalyst and drive for him to serve a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Architecture specialising in Kinetic Facades Design for Environmental Performance.

He is keen on continuously exploring the subject related to design optimisation and experiential aspects of the façade projects to enable delivering an effective facade solution based on challenging industry demand.

Based in Melbourne, Australia Jarrad is an Associate Principal and design leader in SOM’s Melbourne studio. Throughout his 10 years with SOM, first in New York and now in Melbourne, he has been instrumental in the design of numerous large scale mixed-use, residential, commercial office, retail and hospitality projects in the United States, China, Korea, Middle East and Australia, bringing to each a refined design sensibility with a careful attention to scale, placemaking, sustainability and material innovation.

As a founding member and leader of SOM’s Melbourne office, Jarrad has been instrumental in their numerous Australian-based projects, always seeking to bring SOM’s highly collaborative and innovative approach to design and engineering to bear with a high degree of local sensitivity and focus on the creation of an artful experience for the individual user.

With a formal background in architecture and construction management, Elissa leads façade design and delivery across a variety of high profile projects for the Melbourne office. She approaches project teams collaboratively, using her project management experience and astute commercial acumen in the areas of project design, coordination, contracting and client management. Elissa has an extensive understanding of how façade systems are influenced by structural, mechanical, energy, thermal, daylighting, acoustic, fire and budget considerations and how they affect the façade design outcome. Her in-depth knowledge of both the local façade market, as well as the capabilities of international players offers insight into the intricacies of façade procurement and delivery. She uses this knowledge to convey understanding to project teams throughout the design process.

In her global role, Samantha is embedding Hassell’s Sustainability Framework across the practice and ensuring they are innovating in sustainable design.

Samantha has extensive sustainability experience, including in the senior leadership roles she’s held internationally. Her work has spanned 20 different countries and involved sustainability strategies and initiatives for commercial and residential buildings, healthcare facilities, retail developments, university campuses and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Before joining us in our Melbourne studio, she was a Senior Director at Development Victoria, where she designed and implemented their sustainability strategy. Prior to that Samantha spent over a decade at Arup across Sydney, Singapore, Los Angeles and Melbourne.

Simeon brings over 15 years of experience in the design and construction industry with expertise in the areas of design management, procurement and programming as well as site supervision and stakeholder coordination. He is highly adept at working closely with clients and their consultants to ensure architectural intent and design integrity is achieved with value and innovation, all the while ensuring absolute buildability.

Simeon has worked across a wide number of our commercial mixed-use projects and developments in the Melbourne CBD, often focusing on and delivering Green Star and NABERS ESD outcomes for clients that often exceed expectations. He is also well-respected across the industry, undertaking an advisory role for the Multiplex Global ESG Network, as well as being a Green Star Accredited Professional.

Within Mutliplex, he has developed the Multiple Embodied Carbon Calculator (Carbon Modules A1 – A3) and our Site Operation Carbon Calculator (Carbon Module A5). He will specifically focus his attention at 435 Bourke Street on ensuring the delivery of an outstanding ESD outcome and sustainable whole of works performance.

Simeon’s design management experience spans across a range of project types. He was recently Senior Design Manager on the 308 Exhibition Street Project. He also managed the designs for Towers 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the $2.5b Collins Square development for Walker Corporation. Other noteworthy projects he has worked on include Melbourne Convention Centre, Hilton Hotel development, Melbourne Markets Relocation Project and 435 Bourke Street.

Tom Dean is the Carbon Planning Specialist at Slattery. Since he started in 2007, he has delivered some of the country’s most innovative projects. He has more than 15 years of experience advising government and private organizations in carbon and cost management across the phases of development/construction.

In 2021, Tom led the development of Australia’s first carbon planning service, which was endorsed by Green Building Council of Australia and Property Council of Australia. Presently, Tom leads a team of Carbon Planning Specialists who support clients to achieve their carbon goals toward a net-zero future.

Bruce is an Executive Director and Founding Partner of Inhabit and leads technical excellence across the company.

With a formal background in engineering, Bruce has 30 years of experience across many different countries for some of the world’s foremost consulting practices. With an increasing interest and awareness of the impact of environmental and sustainability issues in the built environment, Bruce uses this outlook to influence Inhabit’s next generation of engineers and enhance Inhabit’s industry leading reputation.

Bruce believes strongly in leading by example having developed outstanding multi-disciplined capabilities. He has adopted a highly consultative and mentoring approach to all clients and employees, where he contributes technical expertise, managerial focus and thought leadership to the Inhabit business and the wider consultant engineering industry.

Bobby Wei is an Associate Director at Bates Smart and a leading specialist in façade design.

He is a key member of the practice’s façade team working on the external fabric of buildings and has experience across commercial, hospitality, institutional and residential sectors.

Bobby has contributed to significant projects including the new Australian Embassy in Washington DC, Melbourne’s first 6 star Green Star office building, 171 Collins Street, as well as the benchmark sustainable office development, 435 Bourke Street.

Through his rigorous approach, meticulous attention to detail and strong design sensibilities, Bobby is committed to resolving complex architectural issues and achieving high-quality design outcomes.

Li Yang is a Principal for Built Environment Melbourne and the Façade leader for Victoria and South Australia. He has an MSc in Façade Engineering from the University of Bath (UK) and a Bachelor of Architecture from the National University of Singapore. He has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He has a broad experience base of projects in Australia, Singapore, South East Asia, UAE and New Zealand. Façade projects he worked on includes Australia 108, Queens Place, Victoria Place, Adelaide Convention Centre Stage 2, Zaha Hadid’s Tower on 600 Collins Street, Jean Nouvel’s Le Nouvel, Kuala Lumpur, Ken Yeang’s Solaris Singapore, and UN Studio’s Shenton V Singapore.

Douglas has reached 20 years of global façade engineering consultant and contractor experience. His specialist experience in façade engineering is strengthened by previous roles including main contractor, infrastructure project management and technical, cost and contractual consultation.

Douglas has undertaken various world-class projects including Hong Kong Disneyland, Macau City of Dreams and Dubai Metro. As a super high-rise building façade specialist, he worked as the façade-consultant-team-leader on the two tallest buildings in the World - Burj Khalifa and Dubai Creek Harbour Tower in Dubai.

In May 2014, Douglas joined Aurecon (Middle East) as the facade services group leader of the Middle East office, and was responsible for managing the façade team operation which includes strategic business development, client engagement, and managing design project delivery. In October 2021, Douglas relocated to Australia and continued his service in the Aurecon Melbourne façade team.

Besides his in-depth knowledge and experience in façade design and construction, Douglas is particularly interested in parametric façade design and fabrication modelling, as well as sustainability façade design.

Cindy is a Facade engineer with bachelor’s degrees in Civil Engineering and Architectural Design from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Throughout her time at Aurecon as a Facades engineer, she has developed skills in structural and façade design calculations, preparation of technical specifications and material/product research. Cindy has worked on a plethora of façade projects including high-rise commercial/residential towers, data centres, universities, and research facilities. Cindy has a keen interest in the digitisation of facades, and her specialty lies in 3D façade modelling and parametric design to automate façade analysis and optimisation, combining her interests in both architecture and façade engineering.

Frank Goudman is a Belgian engineer in civil building graduated in 1988. In the first years of his career he was R&D manager for Reynaers Aluminium and since 1994 as an Export Director for Reynaers Aluminium, has been developing new export markets in CE Europe, Middle East, Asia & Oceania. Since 2012, he is active as an Export Sales Director at Renson, a Belgian family-owned company specialised over 110 years in natural ventilation, sun protection and outdoor systems where here too he is developing the export markets.

Marcus Tan is the Sales and Marketing Manager of the Smart Glass Division at AGC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. He handles the sales and marketing business of SunEwat, Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), in South East Asia and Pacific region. Marcus has been in the building construction industry for more than 10 years. Prior to his career in AGC, Marcus held various roles from project management in electrical installation, engineering sales for ASEAN specification to key account management in the coatings industry. In these appointments, his versatile experience in both engineering and commercial roles enabled him to understand the dynamic needs of the building industry. He has always been passionate about innovative building technologies that improve human well-being and the environment.

Nitin Govila is a senior-level International Director with diversified experience in managing business operations in B2B, B2C environments across different business categories at a Regional level. He has also handled international consulting assignments and global projects. Nitin is based out of Singapore.

Mechanical engineer and fire protection specialist with more than 17 years of experience in the construction industry in areas related to passive firestopping codes , testing Standards, Manufacturing, installations and inspections , Member of FPAA , SFS-EA ,international firestop council (IFC) “certified perimeter fire barrier inspection expert”. Some of my previous roles include managing the engineering team at Hilti Emirates , Codes and Approval head “Fire protection” at Hilti middle-east ,Turkey and Africa.

Aiden Jung, Market Development Manager for Korea, Australia and New Zealand in kuraray AIS(Advanced Interlayer Solution) Division, is responsible for the advanced laminated glass interlayers market development for the architectural glass design focusing on structural, acoustic, decorative and other specialized glazing applications. He earned bachelor’s degree in architectural design from Hong-ik University in Korea. He has been engaged in marketing in the diverse high performance construction materials market, and participated in various landmark projects since 2005.

A natural leader, focused on pushing design boundaries, Nicky’s ability to understand site context, and respond with interesting and sympathetic architectural solutions that balance client pragmatism with architectural vision, has been manifest from her earliest days with the practice.

Schooled in both architecture and architectural history, she is acutely aware of her responsibility to create buildings that contribute to the social fabric and enrich peoples’ lives. Nicky thus commits wholeheartedly to designing great outcomes on every level—functional, economic, urban and environmental—and in doing so, achieving the goals of the clients, the firm and the cities their work continues to shape.

With a BSc in Fire Engineering from Lund University and a certified Incident Commander with the Swedish Rescue Services, Pelle comes with a wealth of experience from fire engineering consultancy as well as the rescue services. Pelle’s working history includes Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, and a wide range of projects in the built environment, from the very small to mega-skyscrapers.

As Technical Director and accredited fire safety engineer in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, Pelle has been heavily involved in the wave of mandated and pre-emptive combustible cladding audits across Australia, as an auditor, expert witness, or third-party peer-reviewer.

Sreenivas Narayan is Technical and Compliance Director for India, the Middle East, and South Asia Pacific at Siderise Group and is responsible for developing and delivering the technical strategy for the business in the region.

His experience in the passive fire protection industry lies in developing business in new markets, promoting the technology of fire containment in modern building construction, and undertaking comprehensive fire testing programs for the for 15 years. He has collaborated with over 57 cladding manufacturers to complete more than 200 large scale system façade tests.

As an avid advocate of advancing fire safety to build the safest buildings possible, he works with architects, contractors, and developers to ensure code compliance and encourages the adoption of fire safety standards and practices in countries that lack regulation.

Sreenivas believes that all stakeholders involved in building construction should aspire to get it right the first-time round. By connecting people to the information they need and sharing knowledge to build collective intelligence, he hopes to leave a legacy that will inspire future generations.

Seeking to advance his knowledge and understanding of fire safety engineering, he is also an active member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), and the Society of Façade Engineering (SFE) and CTBUH.

Experience in building market since 1998 specialized in high-end and custom building projects. Projects more representative build after more than 14 years executing a diverse portfolio of cladding and roofing projects are: Logistic and office buildings in Portugal, Spain and France; Petrochemical offices in Spain; Thyssen Bornemisza Madrid, Guggenheim Bilbao and Barbastro museums, Hotel ME Barcelona, Government buildings in Spain; Office building in Accra, Airport buildings in Malabo, Annobon and Corisco, Office building in Yaoundé.

Former experience as cladding and roofing designer, R&D responsible, sales and tendering project developer, Technical manager, and Envelope building coordinator. Current position in Technoform: since 2012 working as research and development manager for product innovation in thermal break systems.

Jean Lorenzzi is today the Head of the Digital Studio team for Saint Gobain Glass, structure in charge of the development / Industrialization of digital technical tools and services based on R&D techno bricks to support the specification and customers. He has a technical background in Material Science & Microelectronic. In the Saint Gobain group since 2010 he has occupied several positions in the R&D at Saint-Gobain Research Paris, working mainly on development of coatings and surface modification of glass and responsible of several key development for the Glass Business: Cool-Lite® XTREME’s & Planitherm® 4S EVO. He has also roles in the business development and Innovation for the export division of Saint Gobain Glass – Saint Gobain Glass International in charge of key local developments worldwide: Cool-Lite® SKN 133 II & SKN 146 II, Cool-Lite® BR, Cool-Lite® Cristal and others.

Anthony Breach connects Australia’s façade engineers, architects and building owners with world-leading, sustainable solar and glass solutions.

As National Sales Manager at George Fethers & Co, Anthony brings the latest photovoltaic façade technology to the Australian market, enabling projects that are both beautiful and sustainable.

Michael’s focus is on innovation, strategy, market, channel and product development for the Australian commercial facades segment, concentrating on the development of the AZURE® Façade System.

Prior to BlueScope, Michael has extensive experience within technical design, fabrication, supply, installation and launch-to-market various facade solutions for leading global companies from Europe, North America and Asia into Australian architectural construction projects, creating solutions in ventilated facade material in steel, aluminium, porcelain, terracotta, engineered stone, cementitious and composite metal/wood laminated façade panels.

Rob leads the Arup façade team in Victoria. Educated and practicing for many years in iIndustrial design, Rob brings a holistic approach to façade engineering built on 20 years within the industry with a specialist façade contractor before becoming a consultant for the last 10 years. Rob has delivered many different projects of various sizes across the world, ranging from Hi-spec Facades to private homes to world cup stadiums and most building types in between. His passion is low energy building design and using a dynamic façade to modulate the internal comfort.

Rob has recently moved to Melbourne from the UK and this gives him an understanding of how the UK/European is currently approaching the challenge of climate change by improving the façade performance whilst managing the embodied carbon required to build the façade.
